Danwood Makes Senior Appointment In Scotland

July 2008 - Danny Cameron has joined the Danwood Group as a Board member and Managing Director for Scotland. He will report directly to Colin Daniels, the Chairman and Chief Executive of the company. With a career spanning 23 years, Danny was previously a member of the Board and UK Sales Director for Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd, based in Milton Keynes.

In this newly created role, Danny will be responsible for the delivery of continued organic and acquisition-led growth, doubling Danwood's turnover in Scotland to £32m and increasing its staffing levels in the next four years.

Commenting on his new role Danny Cameron said: "I join Danwood at an exciting time in its growth. It is an ambitious UK company that is competing with global players and achieving phenomenal success in its chosen commercial, corporate and public sector markets.

"Over the past few years Danwood has taken great strides to position itself as a total solution supplier with all key areas of the business having increased in both volume and scope of operation in Scotland while its global competitors have chosen to centralise their operations south of the border. It is this that encouraged me to move back to Scotland."

With seven per cent (1 in 15) of all multifunctional products sold in the UK by Danwood, its growth has been consistent over a period of 5 years with turnover rising from £61m in 2003 to £120m in 2007. A recent investment by private equity house Englefield Capital LLP provides a major boost to the Board which is keen to complete a number of large acquisitions in the next 12 months and expand into mainland Europe, growing the business to £300m turnover by 2012.

Danny Cameron concluded: "Our priority will always be to the customer. Danwood maintains strong relationships with major global manufacturers to ensure it offers 'best of breed' software and equipment but our product independence means that we can match the correct solution to each individual customers' need. In this way the customer achieves real benefits for their business, can adopt new technologies to improve efficiency and, in turn, increase profitability in what are challenging economic times."
